The Apsara Conference 2020 opened on the cloud for the first time. As Alibaba Cloud enters the 2.0 era, “Wuying”, Alibaba Cloud’s first cloud computer, and “Xiaomanlv”, Alibaba Cloud’s first logistics robot, were launched at the Apsara Conference.

Alibaba Cloud Officially Enters the 2.0 Era

The Apsara system that serves as a supercomputer will be installed with a Digital Native Operating System. This combination provides the Apsara system with a Windows-like interface and empowers people that do not understand the code to acquire the capability of the “cloud”.

At the Apsara Conference, our first logistics robot named “Xiaomanlv” was released.

“Xiaomanlv” integrates the cutting-edge Artificial intelligence (AI) and autonomous driving technology of DAMO Academy. It’s smart and has an amazing emergency response speed that is seven times higher than humans. It’s able to work through windy and rainy conditions. It can last for over 100 kilometers with 4 kWh and deliver over 500 parcels per day. Soon, citizens will see the “Xiaomanlv” in the local communities, schools, offices, and parks.

It’s hard to imagine, but the personal computer was born nearly 40 years ago. At the Apsara Conference, personal computing witnessed significant evolution, in addition to the release of the “Xiaomanlv”.

The Birth of the First Cloud Computer: “Wuying”

“Wuying”, also known as “Cloud Computer”, is a supercomputer on the cloud. It does not have a local host, a CPU, or a hard disk. All of the hardware devices are centrally located in the cloud data center. With a business-card-like C-Key, users are entitled to infinite computing power.
